It’s time to leap out of my comfort zone and reach for one of my goals. Graphic 45 is auditioning for their 2012 Design Team, and following is my audition blog post.
From the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection I offer a simple wood serving tray collaged and embellished with this fantastic line. I love steampunk and enjoyed mixing and matching the papers with other steampunk inspired embellishments to create a design I love. Texture is an important part of my work, and I certainly had a great time building up until I was happy with the final product.
Aloha! I have been waiting for an inspiration for the wire frame I purchased many months ago. I found that inspiration in the Graphic 45 Topic Travelogue line. So I give to you my “hula girl” with her skirt made out of paper from this line and simple lace top. The skirt is embellished with flowers made from the Tropical Travelogue line. Doesn’t it make you want to book that trip to Hawaii?
I love Christmas ….
and I love to give presents. Using the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium Line I put together an exploding box with eight pockets to tuck tiny gifts, gift cards or special messages; and a space in the middle to add a small gift. Two gifts in one!
More Christmas …
Following are four tags I made from the Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium line. Using both sheets from the 12 x 12 collection I added texture by detail cutting certain elements from each design to “pop up”. These tags can be used as a stand alone project or added to a scrapbook page or a card.
Below is a picture I did for one of the groups I am in … a triptych ATC. As you can see I used one of the graphics from the Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante collection. I cut the graphic into thirds and connected them with ribbon.
Charger plate redo -
Around Christmas I purchased a set of gold charger plates from the Goodwill Store and they have been waiting on me since then. I was fortunate enough to win the new Graphic 45 Olde Curiosity Shoppe collection during the pre-CHA design reveal. I’ve used one of my gold charge plates, one (yes one) piece of the Old Curiosity Shoppe paper for the background, finishing it with various tags and stickers from the line. I also picked up a $1 wood cabinet from Michael's, which I distressed and inked then embellished with more stickers and tags from the collection. I rescued the bottles from my stash and added them to the design.
Thanks for looking. I look forward to your comments and I a big thank you to Graphic 45 for allowing me to audition for their 2012 Design Team.
